Updates to 1.5G and 3G signal support. When Video Menu-> SDI Format -> AUTO is selected payload ID of the signal will be detected and followed. If Payload ID is missing from the output device the monitor will process the incoming signal as 4:2:2 YCbCr when set to AUTO, but this update allows the SDI Format Selection override (Video Menu-> SDI Format -> manual selection) to also work on 1.5G and 3G signals, not just 6G and 12G signals.

Classic Update Method

Does not apply to DM, XM, or XMP Series.

We highly recommend using the Mass Storage Update Process and not the traditional update process listed below. However, the traditional update process is required if one of the following is true:

Your monitor does not already have firmware version 9.16 or later. All monitors with firmware versions before 9.16 must be updated using the traditional update process. This will only be required once. After updating to firmware version 9.16 or later all future updates will be possible via the Mass Storage Update process.
You have loaded the incorrect firmware (for a different monitor model) into your monitor. You will need to restore your monitor one time using the traditional update process.

Certain DLL files are required for the traditional update program to run correctly. These files are typically included in a normal Windows installation. However, if you receive warning messages that required DLL files are missing simply download the ZIP file, extract all the files within the folder, and copy/paste them to the C:/Windows/System32 folder.

Like GaiaColor AutoCal, no standalone computer or software is required — simply connect a compatible probe directly to the monitor. GaiaColor Analyzer automatically performs a calibration QC check against your active color space and generates an on-screen calibration report. Both the current report and the previous report are accessible at any time from the monitor’s menu. For those who want to export the report as a PDF, this is now supported via the latest IP Remote Utility application. GaiaColor Analyzer is useful both for verifying the accuracy of a recent AutoCal calibration and as a long-term tool for determining when recalibration may be needed. Provided the Fast Mode function remains activated Fast mode will automatically reenable when a signal is present again. This update also fixes a bug from the previous build where booting the monitor with no signal present while fast mode was still active from last session would cause a no menu/no image condition even when the signal was reconnected.
Nov 13, 2024	2.4.68	XMP Series	Big improvements to interlaced video monitoring capabilities for all XMP models providing high quality, reference grade monitoring of interlaced video signals. There are now 3 deinterlace toggles to choose from: Interfield: fields are combined and shown as progressive. Intrafield: fields are shown as interlaced on screen with proper temporal field order. This is the mode suggested for QC monitoring of interlaced sources as it will allow you to spot issues like field reversals. Psf: for use with progressive segmented frame (PsF) signals. PsF signals are sent to the monitor similarly to interlaced video sources, setting this selection to PsF allows the monitor to display such PsF sources as progressive on screen. Improvements to HLG operation, especially for XMP310. Changes take effect after updating and running new AutoCal. If you do not have time to run a new AutoCal you can still benefit from these improvements by selecting AutoCal Data Backup -> Data 1, then AutoCal Data Load -> Data 1, but a new AutoCal run will maximize the improvements implemented in this build.

Pressing down on the Ref POS rotary knob while Pixel Zoom is on activates the zoomed mode. See user manual version 2.3 or later for more details on this feature. -10bit Measurement Mode added in addition to 8bit Measurement Mode. Measurement mode now allows you to move in 1 pixel increments. This function is most useful when used with some rasterizters that allow for a widescreen 1024x768 DVI signal. Allows you to select between signal clock or internal clock. This toggle can improve audio disembedding quality depending on the source in use. Lum Coloring Feature has also been updated to represent overexposed areas in white and underexposed areas in black.

To select the correct version to upload check your version in the System Status Menu and match to the appropriate firmware version.

You do not need to press the Reset Factory Alignment Menu to operate the RGB Gain and Offset functions and we DO NOT recommend that you Reset to Factory Alignment unless specifically asked to do so by an FSI support representative. Similarly, please do not operate the Start Display Alignment Function unless you are in possession of an FSI automatic alignment kit. -Reset Factory Alignment bug resolved. In firmware version 9.16 selecting the Reset Factory Alignment option from the Display Alignment Menu could cause the monitor's screen to become inoperable until updated. This update resolves this bug and can be used to renable the monitor if this bug was encounterd by user in 9.16.

Each Scopes & VU Meters profile can be assigned to an individual Function button for instantaneous switching between Waveform, Vector Sope, and VU Meter modes -Video Clipping function modified so that the correct default Chroma value regardless of Video Clipping status is 0. If you have Video Clipping Off and Chroma value currently set to -17, please reset your Chroma value to 0. -Measurment function added. Once assigned to a function button can be used to measure YRGB levels of any spot on screen by using H Pos and V Pos rotary knobs to highlight area to be measured. Pressing the F.D. (Find Delta) rotary knob allows you to establish a reference position and compare to any other onscreen positon. Pressing the contrast knob while Measurment function is active allows you to establish an F-Stop reference value and compare differences between onscreen positions as an F-Stop Value. Pressing the Volume knob while Measurment function is enabled resets/clears this F-Stop information from the screen. -Drop Frame Timecode bug resolved. Earlier firmware versions may not have shown frame counts correctly when drop frame timecode was being used. This issue is resolved in 9.16. -Measurment function crosshairs will follow color of markers -Safety in Area function added to Marker menu. With this function set to ON your safety area will be shown realitive to your desired area marker (ie 4:3). With this function set to OFF your Safety Area will be shown relative to the incoming source. -Lum Coloring Feature added to Menu, but not yet active. This feature will be added in future releases. -After installing this update all future updates may be installed with either the traditional upload program (32 Bit Windows Systems Only) or via a new mass storage firmware update path. You must install 9.16 or later firmware with the traditional update program BEFORE this mass storage firmware update method will work. Once installed future updates may be loaded with any computer supporting USB mass storage devices. To activate USB mass storage update mode the following key sequence should be pressed while the monitor is plugged in, but the power is left off (Red power LED not lit): MENU, ENTER, UP, DOWN, MENU, ENTER, UP, DOWN, MENU, DOWN, POWER. Then simply drag and drop the new firmware to the root directory of the monitor (monitor will show up as USB mass storage device on computer). Once the firmware has been successfully copied to the monitor (mass storage device) the Update Firmware menu item on the Display Alignment Menu will become active (no longer greyed out), simply select this feature to complete the update of your monitor. -Toggle Backlight function added to GPI menu. This is a power saving function that toggles between your default backlight setting and the minimum (but still on) backlight setting.
